Wild West Express
Tug-A-War Truck
Martin Motorsport started pulling its second truck “Wild West Express” in late 2007 with Ryan Martin as the driver. It was pulled only 2 times in 2007. The truck was intended to be pulled just for fun but over that winter minor modifications were made and the truck pulled full time in 2008. Things went well in 2008 by winning the points championship and all but two pulls for Western Pennsylvania Tractor & Truck Pullers. Finishing 7th in points for Northwest PA Truck & Tractor Pullers Association. The “Wild West Express” was unique as it was the only points competing truck with Northwest and Western PA that had an Electronic Fuel Injection 460 engine. The truck has gone through many small upgrades to stay competitive over the years, such as bigger tires and a custom air intake.
In 2010 “Wild West Express” started pulling the 6300 Open Street class for PPL competing in pulls in PA & OH. The truck moved up from Street Stock to Mod Street Stock class for Western Pennsylvania Tractor & Truck Pullers.
Over winter of 2012, the truck went from a 6300lbs Open Stock pulling truck to an 8500lbs and 6500lbs Tug-A-War truck. Regularly competing in Tug competitions at Yankee Lake on Friday nights and other Tug events held in PA, OH, and WV throughout the summer. We were competitive from the start of the 2013 season, and have gained on the performance each week. We won the 8500lbs Tug-A-War class at Yankee Lake’s second event and we won all but one event that we competed in 2013 at Yankee Lake. The Wild West Express is in Yankee Lake’s 2014 calendar.
